With the development of e-commerce, online transactions have become easiest and most convenient way to purchase goods. It's different from a physical store. In a physical store, both buyers and sellers reach a consensus on the price and quality before the trade is completed. In contrast with the physical store, online transactions cannot make real-time transactions. In addition, there is a certain degree of risk when doing online transaction, thus the demand for online cash flow service has increased. Third-party payment has sprung to life to ensure safe online transactions for both buyers and sellers. Its main function is to establish a neutral platform between buyers and sellers by collecting funds to pay and custody service. These services establish a comprehensive business model for third-party payment. This study will discuss Taiwan's market in third-party payment services which includes background environment, the development of legal policies and business strategies and so on. The difference between Taiwan's financial industry and non-financial in the business operating model for third-party payment will be discussed through the presentation of difference case studies that will sum up the development of third-party payment market competitive advantages and opportunities.
