A Study on General Administration Service Quality and Satisfaction in University of Technology

The purpose of this study is to assess the level of student and staff satisfaction by the administrations of general affairs at University as reported by staff and students of the University in the Southen Taiwan. A well-structured questionnaire has been administered on a stratified sample of 500 students and 200 academic staff of University. 581 valid questionnaires, the rate of recovery of valid questionnaire is 83%. The Scheffe comparing, Pehrson's analysis, t test, Factor analysis were employed. The results of this study are as follows: 1.Faculty towards the quality of administrative service of the General Affairs office is currently at the range of upper-middle, Empathy is higher than others and Reliability is extremely low. 2. Student s towards the quality of administrative service of the General Affairs office is currently at the range of upper-middle, Empathy is higher than others and Responsiveness is extremely low. 3. The service quility for faculty had a statistically significant difference on age and position,but didn't have statistically significant difference on gender, college, and years of service. 4. For internal customer satisfaction, there are significant differences in different gender, age, departments among students. 5. There are positive correlation between the quality of administrative service of the General Affairs office and internal customers satisfaction. The outcome can be used by the management of the university in order to at least raise the level of satisfaction of less satisfied students by providing better services to departments where these students belong.
