The Study of Multimedia Center Resources Utilization and Services Quality in the University Library– A Case of National University in Central Taiwan

| Popis: | 104 Service is the main goal of University Library. Facing the vairieties and changing contiuingly of user’s needs and expectations, service evaluation will serve not only as guidelines for future management and development of the library and also enhance the professional image of the library. The research target is the teachers and students in National University in Central Taiwan, applied questionnaires and semi-constructive interviews to collect data. The questionnaires is base on the uviversal introduced LibQUAL+TM. The result of resouces Utilization in the Multimedia Center shows that undergraduates are the most frequent users. The majority are from the College of Agriculture and Natural Resources. The main purpose of using the center is for entertainment, followed by learning research.The most often used service is to watch and listen to audiovisual material with audiovisual equipment, followed by using audiovisual collection on the new arrival colletion shelf. DVD & VCD are the types which have been used the most. Furthermore, the evaluation of quality of service in Multimedia Center shows that the most valuable aspect of quality of service for the users is the environment and facilities, and the most satisfying aspect of quality of service is the service staff. The most valuable and satisfying items of quality of service is the the cozy, commodious space, and the less valuable and satisfying items of quality of service is music channel service. Multimedia items to borrow are the most valuable service for the unused users. Finally, the services that require to be improved the most are open hours and a library web site enableing reader to locate information on their own. The music channel service and group audiovisual service resources must be reallocated to other more important service. |
