The analysis method development and stability study of repellent ingredient p-Menthane-3,8-diol

Most of today's selection of insect repellent essential oils as the main component, a common essential oils include lemongrass, geranium, eucalyptus and mint, these vegetable oils have insect repellent properties.Although natural essential oils mosquito aging than the chemical synthesis of short, but its safety is better than the chemical synthesis, so this was chosen from eucalyptus plant extract oil out of one p-Menthane-3,8- diol as a main component of insect repellent products research. Document confirmed using p-Menthane-3,8-diol in insect repellent, and can enhance the growth of mosquito repellent and protective effect. On analysis by gas chromatography analysis column selection DB-WAX, length 30 meter, internal diameter of 0.25 mm, film thickness of 0.25 μm, injector temperature was 170 ℃, the detector temperature to 170 ℃, starting temperature oven set temperature of 50 ℃, gradient manner was raised to 250 ℃, this method can be the main ingredient p-menthane-3,8-diol and the internal standard products eucalyptus oil (Eucalyptol) effective separation. Buy two kinds of commercially add p-Menthane-3,8-diol anti-mosquito products (mosquito repellant British paws full of technology and surprise-free Weier Deng mosquito insect repellent) and p-Menthane-3,8- diol mosquito repellant finished and compares the use of this refined analytical methods to detect the ingredient, and indeed this analysis method effect experiment, the relative standard deviation of precision (RSD) is between 0.51 to 0.61 percent, accurate degree of recovery was 98.68%, the linear regression coefficient R2 is 0.9991, detection limit of 7.68ng, and quantification limit of 23.04ng. In the stability test section, the main ingredients of p-Menthane-3,8-diol repellent products, were placed under different experimental temperatures (25 ℃ ± 2 ℃ / 60% ± 5% RH and 40 ℃ ± 2 ℃ / 75% ± 5% RH), after six months, found no significant changes in appearance are, but the p-menthane-3,8-diol content decreased to 96.33% and 95.48%.
