The Impact of Applying High Speed Camera and Motion Capture System on the Achievement of High School Dancing Student.

This thesis is divided into two study phases. The first is to observe the performance of two dancing class students from a high school in central Taiwan. Based on their movement data extracted by a Optical Motion Capture System during two self-created dancing movement sessions, we analyze the coordinating relationships between the body weight shifts, the quality of movements, and the maturities of skills. In the second phase the focus was aimed at the statistics facts of the affecting efficiency using the facility aiding from both Motion Captures System and High speed camera footages could improve the achievements of dancing education, to provide a solid reference for the training of dancing performance. The first stage is to track the hips trajectory line of moving position coordinates using Autodesk 3ds Max. the smoothness and completeness of the resulting curves can easily differentiate the quality of movements, and the maturities of skills. Secondly two candidates were reviewed through separated sessions with and without facility aiding trials to study the effectiveness of the various training results. Conclusions can be summarized after studying motion capture data and the experimental training in the second stage: 1.Observing key poses of dancing sessions the smoothness of body weight shifts can be easily analyzed, offering the students a better guidelines to improve their movements quality and skills maturities. 2.Watching 3ds Max’s viewport trajectory and Curve Editors’ lines can enhance students with a clear comprehension to improve their smooth continuity between key poses. 3.Through viewing and grabbing footage frames, viewport and argument trajectory lines, the students can achieve movements combinations, kills upgrades, and quality completeness more quickly and smoothly. 4.Utilizing Motion capture System and high speed camera footages works in promoting students to get better achievements than traditional training procedures.
