Popis: | 103 The aim of this study is to understand how the installation art present the predicament of life course and exit of life course. By researching its characteristics combining in various materials, techniques and artistic ideas, the following two aspects are explored: 1. How do installation art express the predicament of life course? What are their notions of creativity, theoretical bases, forms, contents, materials and techniques? 2. How do installation art reveal the exit of life course? What are their notions of creativity, theoretical bases, forms, contents, materials and techniques? The creation is divided into four series of artworks: 1.“Three Poisons and Three Practices”, a presentation of “greed, anger, ignorance” and “commandments, mediation, wisdom.” 2.“Eight Sufferings and Six Perfections”, the presentation of the Eight Sufferings includes birth, aging, sickness, death, being apart from the loved ones, being together with the despised ones, not getting what one wants, and the flourishing of the Five skandhas; the comparison to the presentation of the Six Perfections is generosity, discipline, patience, diligence, meditative concentration and wisdom.” 3.“Darkness and Light,” a presentation of changes of natural environment and its metaphor. 4.“Feast of Life,” a presentation of nuclear safety issue. These four series of artworks originated from analyzing the phenomenon of life, and are based on religious doctrines as well as the relevant theories. Installation arts are made from ready-made objects and other materials to present the implied meanings and metaphors. This research gives me a further understanding of and expectation towards the life courses. |
