Popis: | 103 The purposes of this study are to probe into the quality assurance mechanism for student learning outcomes of general education; to analyze the status of this mechanism applied in a case university; and to assess the satisfaction with and difference in the function of the mechanism in the case university from students’ perspective. Based on the analysis of the results, this study concludes by providing improvement advice to the case university and those under the same university category. This study investigated by sampling senior students’ satisfaction with the case university’s quality assurance mechanism for learning outcomes of general education, using the researcher’s self-designed “Questionnaire of the Quality Assurance Mechanism for Student Learning Outcomes of General Education in a Case University,” composed of questions associated with the six dimensions of “Philosophy and Goals of General Education,” “Course Design and Planning of General Education,” “Faculty and Teaching,” “Learning Resources and Environment,” “Progress and Assessment of Student Learning,” “Administrative Governance and Self-Improvement”—with reference to the students’ background variants like gender, college, years of club participation, general education course attendance, and self-evaluation of course grades—and conducted using expert content validity and reliability analysis. With the aid of SPSS 18.0 statistics software, the data were analyzed by statistical analysis of descriptive statistics, independent-samples t-test, and one-way ANOVA. The results are summarized as follows: 1. The student subjects were generally satisfied with the case university’s quality assurance mechanism for student learning outcomes of general education. 2. In general, the female student subjects had higher satisfaction than the male student subjects with the case university’s quality assurance mechanism for student learning outcomes of general education. 3. There was no statistical difference between the students of different colleges with respect to their satisfaction with the case university’s quality assurance mechanism for student learning outcomes of general education. 4. The club participation had a slight influence on the opinion regarding the case university’s quality assurance mechanism for student learning outcomes of general education. 5. The student subjects who took general education courses with higher attendance rates had higher satisfaction with the case university’s quality assurance mechanism for student learning outcomes of general education. 6. The student subjects who got higher grades in general education courses were slightly more satisfied with the case university’s quality assurance mechanism for student learning outcomes of general education. Finally, this study provides results-based advice as a reference for the case university, other universities in Taiwan, faculty, students, and future researchers. |
