Popis: | 103 The purpose of this research was to investigate while acquiring English listening, speaking, reading and writing skills, ESL (English as Second Language) students can use online English learning sites as an aid to their English learning process. Using different learning methods can be beneficial to the student while he or she discovers what areas they need more work on. However, if the student decides to use an online English learning site, it is important to evaluate if the site is suitable and truly useful,. One way of doing that is by reading its reviews and ratings, the other would be to use an evaluation chart designed specifically to rate online English learning sites. An online English learning site can be a good complementary learning method to traditional English learning methods, as it may cover what textbooks and class lessons lack. Thus, it is important to set up an evaluation chart for online English learning sites to determine whether they are suitable for the learner and meet their needs. The evaluation chart would tell the student whether this site is suitable for them or not depending on their English level, beginner, intermediate or proficient; and targeting one or more specific skills such as listening, speaking, reading or writing skills. Using an evaluation chart to assess online English learning sites can help students and teachers alike by picking the most suitable learning site from the very beginning instead of wasting time on several different sites before finding one that is truly suitable and useful. That’s why it’s important to create an evaluation chart for online English learning sites. |
