Performance and Characteristics of Painless High Speed Lancing Device

Popis: | 103 This study is intended to develop a new type of High-Speed Lancing Device, the first one in the world, based on Collision Theory to produce high-speed lancing. Different from a mechanical spring lancing device, the inner moving structure of the new type is improved by using a heavier metal lump to hit a lighter plastic holder, resulting in high-speed lancing. In the first stage of development, we use Pro/Engineer to draw the picture of the new device and mould it. Then a series of experiments on this new type of High-Speed Lancing Device and a conventional one are carried out. Comparing the two types of lancing device, we&;#39;ve found that the new type pierces only one time when pressing the trigger, whereas the conventional one pierces three to six times through the skin. Furthermore, the new type overwhelms the conventional one at a speed of 1.8 times faster, accelerating 4.2 times faster, decreasing the time of contact between skin and the lancet 0.25 times. Finally, among the 100 volunteers to test the new device, it totals amazingly 2.65 points decrease in NRS pain degree, 1.54 points in FPS pain degree. Comparing the continuing pain after pierced by the two devices, the volunteers feel the pain got from the new type over a span of time less than that from the conventional one by 76.4 minutes. In brief, this study shows that the new type of High-Speed Lancing Device not only shortens the time of piercing through skin,but also visibly improves the shortcomings of the conventional one, which causes back and forth movement through skin and a continuing sharp pain. Successfully reduce the psychological pressure and pain of global diabetes before self monitoring of blood glucose. Bringing the global diabetes self monitoring of blood glucose more comfortable. Design of products will enter the international market in the future, and also to apply for new patents. |
