The Analysis of the Impact of the Third Party Payment on firms in the United States, Japan and Taiwan

| Popis: | 103 With the development of internet, the use of online shopping is increasing, and the development of e-commerce becomes more and more important for many countries.This paper is interested in whether the implete mentation of third-party payment system increases revenue for firm with e-commerce business. There are three groups of firm included in this paper, which are : eBay and Paypal, Rakuten and Rakuten’s bank, PChome and PChome Pay. These three e-commerce firms and its third-party payment system are the representative system in the U.S.A, Japan and Taiwan. The results show that the implementation of the third-party payment system have negative immediately effects on the revenue of eBay and Rakuten. However, there effects are not significant of the third-party payment system on the revenue of the above two firms, few seasons after implementation of the third-party payment system, the effects on revenue turns positive. Immediate and deferred off effect of PChome Pay on the revenue of PChome are not significant. The reason of this result may due to the immature payment system in Taiwan. |
