The Knowledge, Attitude, Behavior of the Health Foods of the Nurses and Clerks of A Regional Hospital

Popis: | 103 The purpose of this study was to understand the nursing staff’s and clerks’s knowledge, attitude, behavior and their related factors toward health foods. This was a cross-sectional and descriptive research design involving a self-adminstered questionnaire method was used for this study. The questionnaire consisted of three parts, namely knowledge of the health foods, attitude towards the health foods and behavior with respected to the health foods. By using a purposeful sampling method, the samples of 200 participants were selected from the nursing staff and clerks of the regional hospital. The information collected using the questionnaire was processed and analyzed with SPSS 17.0. The major statistical procedures applied to the dataset included descriptive statistics, chi-squared tests, independent t-test, ANOVA,.The main findings of the present study were as follow: 1.The nursing sataff and clerks scored the middle to high on the knowledge regarding the health foods, and the nursing sataff higher than the clerks. Overall, the attitude were psitive. 2.Research found that about ninety percent nursing sataff and clerks had bought the health foods, and the main bought category are anti-fatigue, promoting the health of gastrointestinal tract by the growth intestinal probiotics, protecting liver function, preventing osteoprosis, and modulating immune function for oneself. Most of the participants bought their “health foods” from drug stores and the average costs are under 1,000 dollars. Prior to purchase by medical professionals to obtain the relevant information. 3.Over sixty percent nursing sataff and clerks used health foods, and the main had bought category were anti-fatigue, promoting the health of gastrointestinal tract by the growth intestinal probiotics, protecting liver function, preventing osteoprosis, anti-aging by herself. Frequency of use for up to 3-5 times per week, most of the participants use of 1-2 kinds of health foods every time. 4.About fivety percent nursing sataff and clerks had recommended the health foods of anti-fatigue, promoting the health of gastrointestinal tract by the growth intestinal probiotics, protecting liver III function, preventing osteoprosis to parents or families and friends, and rarely recommended to patients or his families. 5.The different demographics variables have significant differences on the nursing sataff’s and clerks’s knowledge and attitude of health foods. 6.The different perceived health status have significant differences on the nursing sataff’s and clerks’s purchase and useful behavior of health foods. 7.Statistically, The part of demographics variables have a positive relation to knowledge, useful attitude and behavior. And part of demographics variables have a negative relation to knowledge and useful attitude. 8.Clerks’s perceived health status have a positive relation to useful behavior. The research article indicated that part of health foods interaction with medicine for chronic diseases. If Health-care professionals short of health foods knowledge, how teaching patients. Therefore, it’s suggestion whether in clinical environment, a incorporating the health foods concept into their training. |
