This study utilized questionnaire survey as the method to investigate the energy awareness and attitude the of fifth grade students’ of elementary schools in Pingtung County. The main purpose of this study is to understand those students’ current conditions on energy awareness and energy attitude, the differences on both topics caused by students’ personal backgrounds as variables, and the correlations between energy awareness and energy attitude. In order to achieve the research purposes, this study explored related theoretical and empirical research papers and use those data as the research foundation to set up the research framework. A total of 350 questionnaires had been issued to the randomly sampled fifth grade students of Pingtung County in this study, and 316 valid questionnaires were recovered, The effectively recovery rate was 91%. The acquired data were applied with SPSS 17.0 statistical software to carry out descriptive statistics, factor analysis, independent samples t test reliability analysis and Pearson product-moment correlation analysis. This study concluded that: 1. In this study, 66.3% of fifth-grade students subjected to the questionnaires had an energy awareness reached 60 or above out of 100 scale. There were 96.54% of student who had energy attitude leaning toward positive and felt optimistic. 2. The variables on gender difference, parents’ level of education, and sources of energy knowledge had significant differences on overall energy awareness. Whereas no significant difference were found on the variables of parents’ energy-related occupations, school districts and energy facilities on the overall energy awareness. 3. Different genders, parents’ level of education, and sources of energy knowledge variables had no noteworthy differences in knowledge on overall energy attitude. 4. The overall energy awareness had positive correlation with overall energy attitude. 5. In this questionnaire’s energy awareness “current energy state and usage” sub-level, students got the lowest score on the question “What is currently the main source of electricity in Taiwan?” and the correct answer rate was only 8.5% The suggestions derived from this study are listed below: 1. Implement energy education into school’s curriculum. Teachers should study more on energy facts and knowledge. Boost students' understanding of the basic concepts of energy. 2. Create a thorough energy education environment and cultivate students’ habits of water and electricity conservation. 3.
