The purpose of this study was to investigate students’ perceptions of an online English learning program – FluSpeak – in two elementary schools, in relation to three aspects: 1) How do students’ perceptions of the effectiveness of using FluSpeak differ across genders and grade levels? 2) How do students’ perceptions of the FluSpeak courseware (interface, content, and scoring) differ across genders and grade levels? 3) What are the difficulties experienced by the students in using FluSpeak? The study surveyed 96 students from two elementary school students studying in grade 3 to grade 6. The content of questionnaires included general information, Likert-scale questions, and open-ended questions. The questionnaire data were analyzed using independent sample t-test. The findings of this study were as follows: 1. Students’ perceptions of the effectiveness of using FluSpeak differ across genders and grade levels: First, the results showed that there were significant differences in the perceptions of the effectiveness of using FluSpeak between the middle graders and the upper graders. Conversely, no significant differences showed between genders. 2. Students’ perceptions of the FluSpeak courseware (interface, content, and scoring) vi differ across genders and grade levels: In this part, statistically significant differences were found between middle grade and upper grade. It showed no difference between genders. 3. Nearly, one third of the students reported they did not have any difficulties while using FluSpeak. The most frequently mentioned difficulties experienced by students in using FluSpeak were their limited reading ability, followed by “ can’t pass to next stage”, while only a few of them had equipment and internet access problems. Finally, the researcher provides some suggestions for future curriculum design and teachers for reference.
