Popis: | 103 Like many developed countries, population aging is under way in Taiwan. The need for rehabilitation healthcare increases as the rapid growth in elderly population. Previous researches suggest that excessive waiting time (66.58%), affordability (46.17%) and insufficient numbers of health care provider (43.62%) are the three main factors that influence the willingness of older people to continue and the effect of rehabilitation. In recent years, some Kinect-based rehabilitation systems are developed both in academia and industry to facilitate proper performance of rehabilitation exercises at home and make it more entertaining. However, these systems in general demonstrate regular and repetitive movements, elders will get bored and stop adhering to the exercise. Playing ordinary motion-controlled games could frustrate elders because they fail to follow the movement and could be dangerous. The purpose of our research is to adjust the elders’ upper limb position on screen so they can play motion-controlled games regardless of physical limitation. Firstly, our system uses the length of the user’s arm to estimate the full range of stretch. Then the user need to move his/her arm through its full range of movement. Our system can subsequently transform the coordinate of the user’s joint tracked by Kinect, the user can reach similar range on screen as if his/her arms can move freely. Adopt out system in a Kinect-based rehabilitation exercise can provide better user experience and therefore, promote the effect of rehabilitation. |
