To validate if a system implemented in an organization conforms to some regulatory requirements, auditing on the system is conducted frequently. During the audit process, the assignment of auditors is critical to the success of the audit. To generate a good auditor assignment, some requirements must be satisfied. Firstly, an effective assignment must consider auditors’ time constraints. The audit assigned to an auditor should be in their list of available times. The second requirement should be considered is the relationship between auditors. In a normal audit process, two or more auditors are assigned to a team to evaluate a system. If a large disagreement exists between these auditors, there might be a significant difference on evaluation results. To avoid substantial difference, an easy approach is to consider the relationship between the auditors. If the auditors in the team accept mutually, the conformity on the audit results is very likely to be high. Therefore, this paper employs a peer nomination scheme which considers the preferences to other partners. To maximize the mutual choice of auditors, an optimization scheme is employed. Genetic algorithm is employed to solve the optimization problem. Results from experiments based on a case study show that the proposed approach can obtain good solutions efficiently.
