Popis: | 103 This study aims to apply differentiated instruction for low-achieving students in remedial education, and to explore the implementation situation and effectiveness of remedial teaching. Approach to the study is action research, and takes low-achieving students of Math in Grade fifth who participated in "Hand-in-Hand Project: Education Support for Disadvantaged Children" as the research subjects. This research lasted 6 weeks, including 24 class-hours and 4 units of applying differentiated instruction to mathematics remedial instruction course. The whole research process was recorded in video and audio form, the researchers analyze the condition and results of the differentiated instruction applying to remedial teaching via information such as instruction data, student interview, observation records and teacher’s introspection. The results of the research show that: (1) There are two teaching methods that is feasible to use differentiated instruction on remedial teaching: One is program type, which makes the math intelligent diagnosis through quizzes and then teach, and the other is subject type, which makes the math intelligent diagnosis through the conceptual quizzes of math theme and then teach. (2) As to the results of the application, learning achievement in math of each object has slightly increased, while seven increased in learning motivation and one remained the same. Lastly, we can raise some suggestions according to the results of remedial teaching and future research: (1) The differentiated instruction applying to remedial teaching is effective and is worth applying and popularizing. (2) The instruction design of the differentiated instruction applying to remedial teaching should exactly diagnose student’s ability and offer individual learning data. (3) Through research of differentiated instruction designed according to student’s learning style and interest can be done in the future. Furthermore, to develop the instruction designs of other grades, field, even combination of multiple fields. |
