Popis: | 102 Population aging trend accompanied with chronic change of morbidity, disability-focusing from health & care problems, complicated and long-term shifting of care. It reflected the importance of the long-term care (LTC) needs and detection of related risks in potential. The study has been conducted following a cross-sectional design, with the structured questionnaire, picking up 253 patients as the samples at northern medical center in Taiwan. Study variables encompassed socioeconomics and health functional profiles as the basis, tried to explore the related potentials on LTC needs of theirs by the policy tool of screening on LTC (Kaigo-Yobo checklist) in Japan. The study outcome showed that around 60.9% of participants might be regarded as LTC risk in potential, encompassing some domains under overall, oral & teeth, mobility, nutrition and depression, however 39.1% of participants without any LTC risk. Their LTC risk in potential in single domain was 44.3%, the singles included domain under overall(11.9%), depression (14.2%), and oral & teeth(13.8%) in potential respectively; However the remaining might possess two and more domains (16.6%), reaching 15.0% containing depression and 11.5% containing oral & teeth risk in potential. Base on the study, the results only implied the weak significant linkage between the risk of LTC and age, gender, socioeconomic status, 16 morbid conditions accelerating aging decay & medication classes, esp. age and medication classes, but not the morbid severity or related indice whatever. The study was the first trial applying package of preventive screening on long-term care to approach the potential of long-term care needs on general population without certain diagnosis. Now, chronic conditions could indeed reflect overall and multi-domain long-term care needs potential, and greatly helpful to handle long-term care needs in Taiwan. Certainly, more workups were still necessarily to support its generalized appliance. |
