Popis: | 103 This article focuses on the discussion of Kang yuwei’s idea of benevolence, rén (仁), including his work The Notes and Commentaries of The Analects of Confucius (論語注), The Notes and Commentaries of Mencius (孟子微), The Notes and Commentaries of The Doctrine of the Mean (中庸注). The Notes and Commentaries of The Great Learning(大學注) which was lost in antiquity, and The Book of Great Unity. Rén has been the core value of Confucianism since Confucius’ time. To discover the true meaning of rén is a popular topic among Confucians. As one of the influential reformers in Qing dynasty, Kang yuwei is a controversial historic figure due to his strong opinioned work. Meanwhile, as a Confucian, Kang’s value of rén is different from the traditional interpretation. This article will discuss (1) Kang yuwei’s idea of rén, (2) how he moves this idea into action and (3) how he allows the general publics to practice rén in their everyday lives and live out the true value of rén. In the process of scaffolding Kang yuwei’s idea of rén, we discover his written works on rén are not merely theories but offer practical use. This article will discuss the relationship between Kang yuwei’s idea of rén and its practical process. |
