Popis: | 103 Cultivated eggplants are deficient in disease resistant. For improving eggplant disease resistant, seemed feasible introgress disease resistant genes by interspecific hybridization. S. torvum possesses disease resistant, but the interpsecific hybrids with S. melongena fruit-set barrier had been found. The purposes of this research were to try methods of overcoming fruit-set barrier and to promote zygote seed sets. Observation of natural flower, abscission of all flower within 3 days after anthesis. Interspecific hybrids pollinated by mix pollen at 1 day before anthesis, all pollinated flowers displayed abscission at 5 days after pollination. Observation of pollen tube growth, pollen tube enter ovary above 4 days after pollination. All pollinated flower of cut style and flower bud treatment abscission 4 days after pollination. Application of 4-CPA 1 day before pollination showed significant delay flower abscission and gain fruits. For 4-CPA concentration treatment, 30 ppm 4-CPA treatment could delay flower abscission better. Investigation on relation between style length and fruit-set rate, results showed that application 30 ppm 4-CPA one day before pollination result in display fruit-set only at those flowers had more than 6 mm style length. Pollen tube tip in partly fruit-set style could imply parthenocarpy. Fruits have rich seeds. Observation of hybrid embryo showed that 28 ~ 29 days after pollination seeds possess developing endosperm-like tissue, and those seeds didn’t observe zygotic embryo. For overcoming interspecific hybrid between S. melongena and S. torvum fruit-set barrier, this investigation suggested selecting flower of style length above 6 mm and application 4-CPA 1 day before pollination could promote hybrid fruit formation but the existence of zygotic embryo need to be further studied. |
