This research is divided into two parts. The first part studies the Deformable Mirror (DM) which applied to Intermediate Optics System (IOS) to improve the structure. The second part is to improve the thickness and optical uniformity of import-backlight module by using microstructure and coating technology. The first part focuses on making the traditional intermediate lens has adaptive capability and become a Self -Compensated Lens by adding the adjustable DM to the IOS. The methods of traditional intermediate lens improvement are to set up the DM system in the intermediate surface, use folded optical and divide the IOS into before and after lens. The experimental results show that these designs can automatically correct the optical aberration and enhance the modulation transfer function (MTF). Moreover, the optical system did not result in increased volume. The second part focuses on the application in external light source energy saving backlight module. This research adds coating technology to light guide plate rear of the monitor. Experimental results show that without reducing the internal light and the light uniformity, this design can still effectively enhance the external light source applications.
