Rigid pavements, lack of long-term performance observation, the effective maintenance of way is yet to be set up; for runways detection, understanding the performance change after repairing is limited, so on-site measurements is required, before the establishment of reasonable repair mechanisms. This research focuses on the performance of rigid pavements. Continuous friction measuring equipment Grip Tester (GT) is used to measure skid resistance at the Tainan Airport; durability flatness test is conducted at the Formosa Highway No. 3, Lan-Tan Tunnel section. Safety measurements including skid resistance and textures assessment are then used to evaluate real-life performance and improve service quality and lifetime. The results of this test show the reason for the decline in the friction coefficient at the Tainan Airport runway is due to the deposition of tire crumbs, especially at the two ends of the runway. Using chemical agents and waterjets to remove tire crumbs can effectively improve skid resistance. Formosa Highway No. 3, Lan-Tan Tunnel section uses fine lines eliminatin, the analysis of its flatness(International Roughness Index, IRI),resistance capability(British Pendulum Number, BPN)and(Skid Number, SN),Mean Texture Depth (MTD)results indicate that IRI value of the long-term no significant changes, BPN, SN and MTD values however have decreased.
