Popis: | 103 In recent years, food safety and organic agriculture has become a tendency in Taiwan. Microbial pesticides with higher selectivity and lower toxicity to non-target organisms has become a choice for farmers to against pests for replacing certain chemical pesticides and reducing unwanted residues on agricultural products. Bacillus thuringiensis(Bt) is the earliest microbial pesticide and has been widely used in the world. Although it has been introduced in Taiwan over 30 years, the sales of it is low. Many farmers consider Bt as a traditional pesticide and do not have enough knowledge with Bt. Consequently, incorrect behaviors of applications make the performance of Bt poor, resulting in the reluctance to reuse it. Therefore, this study aims to understand the vegetable farmers’ awareness of differences between biopesticides and chemical pesticides, Bt using knowledge and using behavior, reduction of chemical pesticides usage and reused intention and, then, to explore the relationship between these constructs. Results indicate that basic Bt using knowledge and positive differences between biopesticides and chemical pesticides influence vegetable farmers’ using behaviors. Bt using behavior analysis, spraying Bt in appropriate period and to correct target influence chemical pesticides spraying volume as well as vegetable farmers'' reused intention of Bt. Suggestions for farmers are that they need to know the concept of integrated pest control, features of Bt application and awareness of biopesticides. Suppliers should build the user guide. Government needs to authorize more biopesticides applications or improves registration processes of biopesticides. |
