Popis: | 103 “Jue Di Tian Tong(絕地天通) ”(the isolation of Heaven and Earth) was recorded in “Lu Punishment” in ShangShu (《尚書˙呂刑》), “Discourses of Chu” in Discourses of the States (《國語.楚語》), and “The Classic of the Great Wilderness of Classic of Mountains and Seas or Shan Hai Jing (《山海經.大荒西經》). Before the spread of western learning and mythology to the East, mythological discussions were always included in the study of Confucian classics. However, starting from the first half of the twentieth century when the “ancient history debater” (古史辨 the Gushibian school) spread the thought of doubting ancient theories and identifying counterfeit records, many classics were “restored” as myths, and debates on whether “Jue Di Tian Tong” was a myth or a history began and gradually grew. Thereafter, “Jue Di Tian Tong” even became “incidents” to decrypt ancient Chinese history due to the new archaeological discoveries. The incidents of “Jue Di Tian Tong” were deemed to be in relation to the monopolization of royal power or political/religious reformation, or considered as a myth that implied astronomical calendar, clan conflicts, human-god relations, or even believed as the origin to realize Pre-Qin Dynasty scholars’ thoughts. From here, we are able to have a glimpse of ancient people’s view on the world at the ancient times. And such different explanatory aspects and focus angles gradually made “Jue Di Tian Tong” a popular topic in all walks of life. This study considered three different dimensions, including myth, history, and religion, to speculate about the meaning implied in “Jue Di Tian Tong” and meanwhile by the concept of texture to apprehend how “Jue Di Tian Tong” was elaborated in different time and different ideological trends and discover what was the motive power to form the text and affect later scholars’ theories. Also, the study planned to read “Lu Punishments” and other two historical books to find areas with different texture applications that were applied at as earlier as when “Jue Di Tian Tong” was just recorded. In three historical books, there were texts regarding the attempts to construct punishment maker’s legitimacy by stating the origin of punishment system, as well as introduction to the cause-effect linkage in relation to the post division of witches and wizards. Each text was rested on its own basis and preferred documentary and textual criticism. Hence, these texts repeatedly reflected “Jui Di Tian Tong’s” initiatives and pursuits. That was to say that the nature of “Jui Di Tian Tong” was never just an orally propagated mythologies but instead was concluded in the functional structure of “use”. The functional structure of “use”, if interpreted by the terminology used by Pre-Qin Dynasty, was the so-called “skill”. And “Jui Di Tian Tong” transformed from the original category of “skill” to the later “Taoism” theory and was even further involved in the theory of “nature-human doctrine” in China. This was the most interesting result of this study during the process to investigate the meaning of the creation of “Jui Di Tian Tong”. |
