Popis: | 103 This study was to evaluate the use of Baosteel Slag Short Flow (BSSF) slag in the concrete mixes of Controlled Low-Strength Material (CLSM) and Ready-Mix Soil Material (RMSM). The mix proportions were designated to replace fine aggregates by BSSF slag with 10, 20, 30, 40, and 50-% in volume. Fresh concrete properties and hardened concrete specimens with 1, 3, 7, 28, 56, and 91-day moist curing process were assessed. When more BSSF slags were added in CLSM, the workability and concrete setting time of concrete mixes were decreasing. The results of slump flow test reached between 360mm and 500mm and those of modified slump flow test were between 140mm and 165mm. The unit weight was increasing due to higher specific gravity of the BSSF slag. The hardened concrete properties including compressive strength, velocity of ultrasonic wave, rebound value of Schmidt hammer, the electric resistance were found lower when more percentage of slag was added. The ball drop test showed deeper depression on the one-day moist cured concrete specimen and every results in depression depth were limited within 76mm. It has to be noted that the results of expansion test increased and the weight loss due to sulphate attack decreased, along with the increment addition of BSSF slag. The maximum measureable expansion was 0.0955% and the concrete specimen containing 30% slags remained intact. However, the concrete specimen was severely damaged without a valid measurement in expansion while 40% and more of slags were replaced. In addition, when lower percentage BSSF slags were added in RMSM, the workability, flow consistency, concrete setting time, compressive strength, the velocity of ultrasonic wave, rebound value of Schmidt hammer, electric resistance and resistance of sulphate attack were increasing and those were found decreasing while 40 or 50-% slags were replaced. The conclusions of this work provide a good reference in the use of BSSF slag in CLSM and RMSM. |
