Supplier Relationship Management (SRM) is of high value to enterprise-supplier relationship, which makes great influence on the delivery, quality and cost. SRM emphasizes that the enterprise and the supplier set up a relationship of reliance, long-term cooperation, tightness and resource sharing in order to reach the win-win competitive advantage. The objective of this study is to discuss the influence of supplier relationship on supplier performance. The study interviews the procurement buyers and related supervisors of nine metal processing companies and one expert. Through in-depth interview, it is found that the suppliers of metal processing industry count on the resource and assistance that the enterprises offer and fail to have self-improvement and strengthened organization; the enterprises only use the supplier management index for internal evaluation, which makes it hard to implement. It is not feasible for the enterprises to evaluate their suppliers’ performance in order to select excellent suppliers. In terms of technical or professional cases, it is necessary to have regular meetings; by doing so, both would have mutual goals and would enhance the tacit understanding. In addition, when introducing new products, suppliers can participate in it and develop with the research and development personnel of enterprises. It not only makes suppliers prepare earlier but also lower the cost and time for research and development. The study finds the main considerations that the enterprise looks for suppliers are the quality, delivery, price and processing abilities of them. In the aspect of the influences of supplier performance on the enterprise’s operating performance, the greatest ones are quality and delivery; the second ones are cost, service and technology.
