Plastic is important for human, but its serious of energy consumption and hazardous waste on environmental, so we are working on different sources of plastic alternatives. Poly Lactic Acid (PLA) is a plant starch as raw materials by fermentation dehydration condensation, having biocompatible, biodegradable, hardness, and transparency. It is developed and manufactured since 1980s, now is often used in biomedical materials or disposable item. But it is difficult to identification with traditional biomass after waste, it will reduce the value after mixing of poor recovery, and the common method for PLA wastes is oxidation for densely populated in Taiwan, but it is unknown the gas is produced after oxidation of PLA, in this study oxidation and pyrolysis way to explore the feasibility of processing the waste of PLA and the best treatment conditions, analysis PLA waste oxidation and pyrolysis gas products and PAHS, to provide future PLA waste treatment information. The results indicated that the optimum conversion rate for oxidation / pyrolysis of waste for PLA is 723K and 10minute maintain, and the residue was less than 1%, PAHS concentration of pollutants each 142.87 ~ 180.42μg/g and 94.15 ~ 120.71μg/g.
