The purpose of this study was to investigate the relationship of role perception and role performance on job satisfaction among the part-time guidance teachers of the elementary schools in Hsin-chu County. Furthermore, this study was aimed to explore the correlation among role perception,role performance and job satisfaction .This study also analyzed that job satisfaction can be predicted by role performance of the part-time guidance teachers. This study adopted a general survey method. The instruments were “Scale of Role Perception and Role Performance on Job Satisfaction of the Part-time Guidance Teachers of the Elementary Schools in Hsin-chu County .” There were 103 the part-time guidance teachers of the elementary schools in Hsin-chu County sampled generally. The data were analyzed with descriptive statistic method, the analyze of realiability and validity, Pearson Product-Moment correlation,and explanation multiple regression.The finding of this study were as follows: 1. Role perception in the part-time guidance teachers of the elementary schools in Hsin-chu County was positive,while the perception of “Life learning and guiding” was the highest and “Curriculum design and development” was the lowest. 2. Role performance in the part-time guidance teachers of the elementary schools in Hsin-chu County was lower than role perception,while the performance of “Life learning and guiding” was the highest and “curriculum design and development”was the lowest. 3. Job satisfaction among the part-time guidance teachers of the elementary schools in Hsin-chu County was acceptable,while the satisfaction of “Relationships” was the highest and “Compensation for work”was the lowest. 4. There were positive correlation of role perception and role performance among the part-time guidance teachers of the elementary schools in Hsin-chu County. 5.There were positive correlation of role performance and job satisfaction among the part-time guidance teachers of the elementary schools in Hsin-chu County. 6. There were the relevant positive correlation of role perception and job satisfaction among the part-time guidance teachers of the elementary schools in Hsin-chu County. 7. Job satisfaction can be predicted by role performance among the part-time guidance teachers of the elementary schools in Hsin-chu County,while “Life learning and guiding”,“Counseling”, “Identification and referral”, “Consulting” were the main predict variables. 8.Accordingly,implications of these findings are discussed. Finally, suggestions for the administration,schools, the part-time guidance teachers, as well as further studies are proposed.
