In this thesis, two inventory models for fresh produce with variation demand and expiration date under trade credit are developed. In chapter 2, we assume that the demand is freshness-and-stock dependent and establish an inventory for fresh produce with expiration date under permissible delay in payments. In chapter 3, we extend the model in chapter 2 where the demand rate is assumed to be dependent on sale pricing, freshness of good and inventory level on the shelf. The terminal condition of zero ending inventory level is relaxed, and there is a limited shelf space to display stocks in both models. The objective is to determine optimal replenishment or/and pricing policies for maximizing the retailer’s annual total profit. Due to the complexity of the models, this thesis develops algorithms to find the optimal solutions for these two models. Then, numerical examples are provided to illustrate the solution procedure, and sensitivity analyses of the optimal solutions with respect to major parameters are carried out. Finally, several management implications are found in accordance with the numerical results of sensitivity analysis and future research directions are proposed in chapter 4.
