The study used the Technology Acceptance Model (TAM) to discuss parents’ purchase intention of technologic toys for preschool children. Questionnaire and statistical analysis were adopted to conduct quantitative research, so as to understand parents’ attitude towards children’s use of technologic toys and the differences of individual variables on external variables (safety and durability, development of adaptability, characteristics in functional design) and on all variables of TAM. This study also discussed the correlation between external variables and all variables of TAM, and correlation between all variables in TAM. The subjects parents in preschool children in Tainan City and Changhua County. A total of 130 questionnaires were distributed and 124 questionnaires were retrieved. There were 120 valid samples, with a valid return rate of 90.2%. The results are as follows: most children (about 81.7%) have played technologic toys, and most of them began to play those toys since they were babies (about 1 year old). However, for most children (about 55.8%), their favorite categories of toys are mainly non- technologic toys. Among the categories of toys they have at home, the majority are non- technologic toys (about 60%) as well. Parents of preschool children held negative and skeptical attitude towards the safety and durability of technologic toys, and stated that using technologic toys would hinder children’s visual development. On the other hand, parents held positive and affirmative attitude towards development of adaptability and characteristics in functional design, and indicated that technologic toy is the current trend and can provide the unique learning method and chance of repetitive learning for children. Moreover, children’s gender has a significant difference on safety and durability and characteristics in functional design; age of parents and children, as well as parents’ education degree, have significant differences on development of adaptability. External variables have positive correlations on all variables of TAM. Parents suggested that playing with technologic toys can arouse children’s curiosity and promote physical and mental development. Nevertheless, there are many types of technologic toys in the market, and the quality varies widely. There are also problems of toxic chemical substance and hygienic problems (not easy to clean). Therefore, manufacturers should improve the quality design of technologic toys to increase parents’ purchase intention on technologic toys.
