| Popis: | 103 For the purpose of promoting the quality of life and education for New Immigrants, “The National New Immigrant Torch Project” was driven by Ministry of the Interior and Ministry of Education in March, 2012. The Project aims to offer a stable environment, complete cultural and educational services for New Immigrants and their children. Moreover, the Project improved the multicultural understanding, mutual respect and international interactions between New Immigrants and citizens. The purpose of the research is to investigate the influences of the Project for New Immigrants. This qualitative study includes local and new immigrant policies and interviews from sixteen executive staff. The results of the study are as follows: Firstly, the intention of participation for the Project is decreased due to the non-compulsive Project in itself, some variable factors, complete expense claims and insufficient human resources. Secondly, a sound basis for the multicultural education has been provided through promoting activities and implement of the Project. Thirdly, the social involvement and cultural identity has been enhanced through the native language lessons. The suggestions of the study are listed below: Firstly, add some incentives to improve the intention for the Project participants. Secondly, support sufficient expenses and manpower to continue the Project. Thirdly, utilize diversified measures to enforce multicultural education. |
