With the development of science and technology, the performance of the computer hardware is improving. In order to make the hardware resources are fully utilized, using virtualization technology has become more popular in the enterprise. Many company Using virtualization technology to concentrate multiple virtual servers on a single hardware, to reduce the idle system resources and improve the system resources usage. Because many companies using virtualization, virtualization technology and related research has become an important issue. To accurately evaluate the performance of a server in virtualized platform, we need to use specifically performance testing software for virtualized platforms. The SPECvirt benchmark suites are used to measure performance of virtualized platforms. In this paper, we use SPECvirt subsystem tool SPEC CPU2006 to evaluate CPU performance for virtualization server and physical. We analyzed SPEC CPU2006 testing data and compared the results to evaluate virtualization server’s benefits.
