Computer Aided Engineering analysis of blood-glucose meter warping study

Popis: | 102 The cover product of glucose meter is made by Acrylonitrile-butadiene-styrene (ABS) commonly. Since the thickness is thin and processing is very complicated, the warpage defect is often to encounter. In this paper, to understand the warpage mechanism for the cover product of glucose meter, we have applied Moldex3D software to execute CAE analysis. And Taguchi method was used for the design of experiment. We tried to get the mould design and the optimal molding parameters to manufacture the smallest warpage product. Specifically, the L8 (27) orthogonal array was used to execute the interference experiment. Furthermore, the L18 (21×37) orthogonal array was used in main experiment with seven three-level control factors. According to the response table and the response graph, the melt temperature and packing time are the most important interference factors. Then the melt temperature and packing time were combined to a compound-interference factor. After further analysis, results show that packing time, melt temperature, cooling time and gate diameter are the most important factors that will affect the warpage of glucose meter significantly. Finally, analysis of variations was also used to pooling of errors, including S/N ratios and quality characteristics. When pick up under 95% confidence levels, the important factors of warpage coincide with the result of Taguchi methods. Moreover, we also applied confidence intervals to estimate the effects of the errors of factor. Results show that the predicted values and experimental values are in a very good agreement. Obviously, this experiment is verified with good accuracy. |
