Popis: | 102 Energy crisis and environmental protection have been the most important issues these days. Many countries had already set up relevant legislations to achieve the goal of zero-emission and to decrease the fuel consumption. However, there is still much improvement needed in terms of conventional combustion engine. The technology of turbocharger can improve the intake efficiency and the engine power, but it may cause the engine oil to degraded and insufficient the lubrication system by the high temperature above 250℃ when the engine stops. The purpose of this paper is to overcome the high temperature issues from turbocharger bearings when engine stops, by utilizing an additional smaller Electric Water Pump (EWP) in the cooling system, it only operates when the coolant is over heating or when the engine stops to prevent the oil from degrading. The system''s layout, operating time and duration are investigated in this paper to obtain optimal performance. The primarily experiment results show that the proposed layout and control strategy had effectively lowered the temperature from 225℃ to 112℃ relative to the conventional one. |
