The aim of Mergers and Acquisitions (M & A) is to combine two companies’ competitive advantage to achieve goals including: sharing technology, capital, information, marketing, human resources, and expanding production scale and existing market, enhancing market competitiveness. The main purpose of this study was to investigate the influence of cultural conflict on cross-border mergers and acquisitions used a qualitative research method. This study develops a research framework and selects the M & A case of Japanese group N company & T company as the research subject. The study results showed that if the differences of national culture and organizational culture between the two companies are not resolved, the process of cross-border M & A cultural integration will be very difficult. It is necessary to overcome the cultural differences to achieve an M&A success. The propositions and interview questions outlined in this study will be a reference for business and academia at an M&A related research. Finally, the study made three recommendations for future cross-border M&A.
