Popis: | 102 Graphene and carbon nanotube (CNT) are special carbon nanomaterials, both have amazing mechanical properties. However, there are few researches about the mechanical properties of the 3D structure which combined graphene and CNT forests. In this research, we fabricated graphene and CNT forests then used a nanoindentation system to measure reduced modulus (Er) and hardness (H) of graphene/CNT forests and graphene/iron-filled CNT forests, respectively. Additionally, we discussed the influence of different graphene layers on mechanical properties of graphene/CNT forests. Using nanoindentation system, the Er and H of graphene/iron-filled CNT forests is 0.6 times and 0.4 times of pure iron-filled CNT forests, respectively, few-layers graphene could reduce strength of iron-filled CNT forests. And mechanical properties of graphene/CNT forests was influenced by the combined methods of graphene, when graphene had fixed ends on substrate, CNT forests would be compressed by graphene and reinforced strength, we also found more graphene layers could make higher strength of CNT forests, the highest Er and H of graphene/CNT forests are 23.8 MPa and 912 KPa, which are 6.6 times and 5.2 times of pure CNT forests, respectively. In this research, we found a method to control the mechanical properties and geometry of CNT forests by the layers of graphene. |
