Popis: | 102 The historical street is one of the cultural preservation of historical significance in Taiwan. In the history of the evolving process, the historical streets which were the originally vital spaces of commercial trade, and transactions for goods, attracted a lot of people to make a living along the streets. Because these areas developed in the early years in the cities, there were many aged, obsolete and damaged buildings. In addition to the changing times, the functions and forms of the historical streets were transferred with the development of society and industry. This study wants to know do these historical streets have the perception of authenticity for tourists. Thus, the study chooses three different kinds of historical streets to explore the differences in the perception of authenticity and landscape preference of the tourists. Data was collected by on-site and non-on-site survey with visitors. This study obtained the following conclusions: 1.Cultural motivations, such as “relax mentally”, “visit cultural attractions/events”, “have a good time with friends” and “cherish the memory”, had significant impacts on the perception of authenticity. 2.The respondents thought that the most important environmental element in the historical streets is “exterior buildings”. 3.Environmental elements, such as “arcades” and “red brick of the building”, had significant impacts on the perception of authenticity. 4.The perception of authenticity had significant impact on the landscape preference, especially objective authenticity is higher than existential authenticity. 5.The respondents preferred the restored landscape of Shenkeng Old Street in New Taipei City, especially on the factor of “exterior buildings”.
