In this study, we prepare graphene on copper substrate using chemical vapor deposition. The product was then process into a graphene probe which can be applied to the scanning tunneling microscope. The graphene-coated copper substrate was stressed by a mechanical cutting tool. Follow by a point wet etching when the surface tension of etchant etched copper substrate in a dip-etching process to utilized graphene edge and undercut the substrate. It turns out to be the suspended graphene in the atmosphere. We use of microscopic Raman spectroscopy to confirm the presence of graphene, and using a scanning electron microscope to observed the tip with energy dispersive X-ray spectroscopy (EDS). The measure results were found that the high intensity projection carbon signals which confirmed the graphene existence. We also develop a standard operation procedure to mass-produced graphene probes. We use a graphene probe to test its performances when applied in STM. The experiments were measuring the surface of highly oriented pyrolytic graphite (HOPG). And the results show the atomic resolution can be achieved. It shows the capability of graphene probes in STM measurement which is benchmarking to the conventional platinum-iridium alloy probes.
