Popis: | 102 This study adopted action research to understand the difficulties of a person with cerebral palsy accompanying mental retardation when he is involved in operating activities in disabled community (referred to as small-scaled workshop), and designed pillow filling device based on individual needs and the job requirements of the small-scaled workshop, and then reviewed its use effectiveness. A disabled person and an educare giver of a small-scaled workshop in Tainan City participated in the study. Programming of designing assistive device included problem assessment, assistive device design and production, assistive device trial and training and use effectiveness assessment, during which assistive device was corrected constantly in response to the needs of study participants. Filling assistive device of this study adopted a total of three different design principles for assistive device design, namely pneumatic filling device, cyclone filling device and vacuum filling device in order. It’s found after trial and correction that vacuum filling device had the best trial effectiveness, so vacuum filling device was assessed for its use effectiveness. Finally, the following important conclusions were proposed for reference according to study results; 1. Using low-cost materials which is easy to obtain to design assistive device is very important for private disability welfare institutions with general shortage of funds; they can take into account the dual advantages of solving operating activities difficulty and saving expenditure. 2. Vacuum filling device features advantages of being fast, effort-saving, low reproducible, having funny producing process and easy sites rehabilitation, which ensure the users willing to continue using vacuum filling device. 3. The handicapped person and educare giver paid prior attention to the security and functionality of the working assistive device, and both of the two affirmed the security and functionality of the vacuum filling device designed and produced by the study. 4. The use effectiveness and assistive device trial of vacuum filling device were related with the training stage; prior adequate use training of working assistive device was very important |
