The Study for Implementing Tentative Guidelines for Children Activities in Private Preschool in Taichung city Hui-Ping Chang Abstract This study is to implement the tentative guidelines (hereinafter referred to curriculum guidelines) for children activities with the researcher who is working in her/his Preschool and her/his team. The subjects include 10 preschool teachers and the process period takes 13 months. Three purposes are mentioned in this study.(1)The process of implementing curriculum guidelines in preschool;(2)The problems and the coping strategies while implementing curriculum guidelines in preschool;(3)The changes and professional growth while implementing curriculum guidelines in preschool. The researcher organized and analyzed the interview information, meeting minutes, sharing experiences, teaching records, reflections and documents and etc. The conclusions come as below according to the research results: 1. The process of implementing curriculum guidelines in preschool. According to the collected documentation, the researcher divided the process of implementing curriculum guidelines into exploratory stage, attempt stage and intensive stage. During the process, the research used strategies such as giving advises each month by professional professors, meeting minutes, field researches and studies, peer teaching and situation observations, courses share, etc. By communicating, coordinating and guiding, the research tried to implement the curriculum guidelines with the teachers. 2. Problems and the coping strategies while implementing curriculum guidelines in preschool (1) Facing problems: a. Unable to have deep discussions because of plenty of themes of semesters. b. Teachers don’t understand the contents of curriculum guidelines and design concepts of integrated curriculums. c. Interpretations, confusions and struggles of each field of curriculum guidelines. d. Teachers don’t understand the correspondences and connections of learning targets. e. How to strength the plans of learning situations between teachers and students. f. How to increase guiding abilities of classes of teachers. (2) The coping strategies: a. Discuss the settings of themes with research and the team by holding provisional meetings. b. Teachers join the curriculum guidelines’ researches of field. c. Discuss the plans and designs of curriculum guidelines of classes by attending teaching meetings. d. Discuss six fields of curriculum guidelines with the team. e. Concept clarification of each field guiding by professors. f. Enhance the targets’ correspondences guiding by professors. g. Teaching observations and teaching learnings. h. Class sharing and discussions. i. it’s been said” Other hills may serve to polish the jade of this mountain.” Improving ourselves by learning others’ learning situations and plans. j. Observe the learning situation of each class. k. Professors teach and share their experiences of implementing curriculum guidelines in preschool. 3. Changes and professional growth while implementing curriculum guidelines in preschool. a. Teacher change and growth: During the progress, teachers learn and communicate with each other to increase the abilities of problem solving. Through real actions, teachers enhance the integration of course design and plan the dynamic learning environment. b. Research change and growth: To understand more curriculum guidelines by reading literatures and talking with professors. Use strategies to solve problems and increase the abilities of problem solving. During the process, also enhance the abilities of leadership. c. Children change and growth: After the children are guided by teachers, the learning attitude is more aggressive. Children admire their own works and share with each other in the meantime to increase the interaction abilities. Base on above theories, the researcher provided related suggestions for references Regarding to preschool, preschool education, education authority and future researchers.
