The goal of this study is to explore the introduction of child rhythm courses in the curriculum of child care students and how this affects learning attitudes and educational effectiveness. Two classes from the child care department in a Taipei vocational school are subjects with 52 members in the class A receiving an 8 week curriculum dedicated to the project-based learning while 50 members in class B receive standard rhythmic education.Own design “Child Rhythm Learning Attitude Scale”and “Child Rhythm Learning Effectiveness Scale”. Subjects are tested with descriptive statistics, independent sample t-test, and paired t-test. Results are as below: (1) The PBL curriculum resulted in improved results in “emotional expression”, “diverse exploration”, and “peer interaction” (t= -2.06, -3.22, -2.03, p.05). (4) Standard rhythmic education showed deterioration in indexes of education effectiveness such as “learning attitude”, “activity performance”, “educational satisfaction”, and “overall performance” (t = -.71, -1.60, -.10, -1.34, p>.05). (5) The two different learning methods have not achieved significant levels in differences in terms of learning attitude and effectiveness, but the test group showed higher average scores compared to the control group. Conclusion: the implementation of project-based learning rhythmic curriculum did not show significant levels of difference to learning attitude and effectiveness and is not clearly beneficial, but overall scores are higher than intermediate values. This shows that students hold apositive and supportive attitude towards the project-based learning.
