China was split into Mainland China and Taiwan since 1949 A.D., former presidents of R.O.C., Chiang Kai-Shek and Chiang Ching-Kuo, their bodies not only represented the existence of nation, but also the inheritance of the legitimacy of R.O.C.. In contrast, the communist China was founded under the corridors of power of Mao Ze-Dong. Series of political movements were trigged due to the transformation of China and consolidation of Mao’s political power. These two nations were under their own governances until their deaths; therefore, this showed the continuation of the concept of the leader and the nation as one between the cross-strait. Although the body of health was the main focus, leaders’ medical system and guarding and security system were also involved. The purpose of this thesis is to study two former presidents of R.O.C., Chiang Kai-Shek and Chiang Ching-Kuo, and former chairman of China, Mao Ze-Dong, since 1949 A.D.. It was concluded that their body images possessed healthy, respectful and friendly looks through their own or professional photographers. With the political purpose, their corpses were rested in the mausoleum or memorial hall for people’s respect and political influence.
