Popis: | 102 Adolescence is an important phase of development in a person’s life. Adolescents tend get to understand themselves and confirm their own thoughts and feeling through interactions with teachers and peers at school. In recent years, social issues such as juvenile delinquency and runaway teens have taken place one after another. Causes of such social issues largely arise from a poor parent-child relationship in early years or adolescents’ inadequate control over their own emotions, which not only result in behavior deviations but also indirectly affect adolescents’ subsequent adjustment to school life. This study explored the correlation among adolescent attachment relationships, adolescents’ emotional intelligence, and adolescents’ adjustment to school life. Junior high school students with a better ability of forming attachment relationships had more noticeable performances in getting on with school teachers and students, peer interactions, self-acceptance, and academic studies. In addition, junior high school students with stronger attachment relationships showed higher emotional intelligence. This study also chose junior high school students as the research subjects to investigate how junior high school students’ adjustment to school life was influenced by students’ attachment relationships and emotional intelligence. With students at public and private junior high schools in northern Taiwan at the research subjects, 200 questionnaires were distributed and 165 valid questionnaires were collected. The data were analyzed using SPSS package software for Windows 12.0. The results revealed that attachment relationships had a significantly positive influence on students’ adjustment to school life. In consideration of emotional intelligence, attachment relationships and emotional intelligence both have a significantly positive influence on students’ adjustment to school life. Junior high school students’ attachment relationships, which are subject to students’ emotional intelligence, have a significantly positive influence on students’ adjustment to school life. Therefore, enhancing students’ emotional intelligence affects students’ attachment relationships and further facilitates their adjustment to school life. |
