Current electro-osmotic theory only exist one- and two-dimensional theory. If the electro-osmotic technology is to be applied at the working site to improve the strength of softly soil, the three-dimensional pattern of square type with positive and negative electrode disposes is required. The objective of this research is to derive equations from three-dimensional electro- osmosis theory and to verify its feasibility. Previous test results of the settlement curve from one-dimensional and radial direction electro-osmotic experiment was observed to have a close tendency to the clay consolidation curve. This concept was applied to derive three-dimensional electro-osmotic equations. We used excess pore water pressure of consolidation behavior to deduce three-dimensional equations under solar energy electro-osmosis. Then, dimensionless finite difference method (FDM) was introduced to study the metal ion diffusion of anode and cathode at different electro-osmosis durations and depth under a fixed voltage in order to provide references for future research on a numerical solution of three-dimensional electro-osmosis. Six 3-D electro-osmosis equations including special boundary layer were derived. Experiment at 3 points of the soil tank was carried to verify. From Energy Dispersive Spectrometer, ion increase 4.66%, 5.39% and 8.33%, respectively as compared with simulation results derived from our equations. The average error is 6.02%. This research proposed dimensionless finite difference method to the 3-dimentional electro-osmosis equations. It may analyze conditions of initial, suspension, and restarted electro-osmosis under different voltage of the positive and negative metallic ion to diffuse the distributed situation.
