Popis: | 102 Background: Angiotensin receptor blockers (ARB) has been demonstrated as an effective treatment for hypertension and other cardiovascular (CV) disorders. The renoprotective effect could be a potential benefit of ARB. As potential ethnic difference could not be ruled out, clinical evidence from East Asia is scarce. The aim of present study is to evaluate efficacy and safety of ARB among Asia. Method: A literature review focusing on evidences of ARB and renoprotective effect conducted in Asia. The indices outcomes for renoprotective effect were proteinuria and estimated glomerular filtration rate. Result: Several studies on the proteinuria were in favor of ARB. Although some studies supported that ARB may lower the GFR with less magnitude than other drugs, the evidence is scarce. Studies also indicated that ARB could be effective for add-on treatment. Clinical trials on the comparison between ARBs and dosages are cumulating. Discussion: The efficacy and safety of ARB for hypertension had been supported. Clinical evidence on the renoprotective of ARB among Asian population is still needed. |
