Parkland always not only plays a significant role in the promotion of environmental quality, ecological protection and environmental education, but provides the public with leisure and recreation place. Nowadays, parkland’s multiple targets have been gradually developed by introducing bicycle lane and physical exercise instruments besides satisfying original demands. Few years ago, popular of bicycle became a trend of installation of bicycle lane in Taiwan. Tunghsi Park in Taoyuan City is an example of introduction of bicycle lane in a liner park. However, it’s doubtful if an original liner park is really well developed to provide the purposes of environmental ecology, social culture and residents’ recreation or even function of bicycle lane after environmental reform. Therefore, this study takes Tunghsi Park planning to be completed in Taoyuan City as an example, trying to examine the current operation, analyzing the current situation how users and residents around the liner park use, and what the feeling and influence after they used bicycle lane. The intention is to understand if there’s any difference between the current use and previous plan, finding out interactive situation and problem between users and environment, and thus landscape benefit of Tunghsi Park could be explored accordingly. This study is mainly to discuss and examine the development history of Tunghsi Park by using the relevant literature review, environmental observation and deep interview, aiming the Park for deep research and analysis to understand demand of current users after improvement, expecting to explore topics and plan the relevant policies, with which the future project planner can take reference of the installation or improvement of liner park for further proposal of renewal of Tunghsi Park in Taoyuan City.
