Popis: | 101 The aim of this study was to investigate the change of resistance of cured carbon films, due to moisture absorption, derived from the chemical and physical modification of a thermosetting phenolic resin. From contact angle data, the angle may increase or decrease with increasing silane addition for silanes of different functional group or at different pH. Three silane coupling agents were selected in this study. The silane content and three pH condition were the experimental parameters. The contact angles of the cured film made from the unmodified resin and modified resin were measured, followed by the percentage increase in moisture absorption. Three formulae that show lower percentage of moisture absorption were selected for tests with carbon paste. The formulae that give a change in resistance that is lower than the unmodified resin after prolonged exposure at 95%RH is discussed. |
