This thesis presents a simulation model for a self-excited single-phase induction generator using Matlab/Simulink. The steady-state model of the single-phase induction generator is also analyzed using Mathcad. In this thesis, only the one-winding generator is considered. A 0.5 Hp, four pole, 220V/4A single-phase squirrel-cage induction motor is taken as an example. The magnetization curve of the motor is obtained from the experimental data. Results given by the analytical model, the simulation and the experimental results are compared and discussed.
