Herding Behavior Inside the Board and Its Related Factors

In recent years, academics in various fields has been a rush for "human", "Herding Behavior" is among the hot topics. Decision-making individual is often affected by psychological factors, and tend to refer to views of others. More the decisions related to the interests, more the person prone to be herding. It''s possible that the phenomenon of herding behavior exist inside the board, and affect the company''s major decisions. This study focuses on the herding behavior within the board and whether individual personality traits affect their behaviors in the boardroom. In this study, according to Gonz&;aacute;lez ''s model of the proposed modifications herding experiment, subjects were simulated simultaneously in the board resolution with private messages and public messages, and how would they make decisions. By Rosenberg self-esteem scale, and Costa and McCrae NEO five-factor Inventory (NEO-FFI), psychological characteristics measured participants. The results show that due to the incomplete information, or unknown external environmental conditions, when the members of the board to make decisions, the influence of personality traits susceptible to follow the views of others. In addition, when individuals take decisions relating to group interests, the inside of the board prone to be herding phenomenon.
