Patent Analysis of Milling Cutters and Workpiece Surface Finish Quality

Popis: | 101 The mechanical working and manufacturing industry aims at faster, higher accuracy and low cost. The cutters for mechanical working are divided into general milling cutter and milling cutter with indexable insert, and the milling cutter with indexable insert consists of cutter blade and cutter head. This study probed into the present technical information of indexable insert through patent analysis, and discussed the changes in the patent development as a reference for related industries in future studies. This study used Patent Guider and Patent Tech of LearningTech Corp. as the retrieval and analysis tools, took the milling cutter with indexable insert as the subject of patent analysis, and used USPTO for patent retrieval and analysis. The improvement on workpiece cutting surface quality was taken as an example after patent analysis. The data of characteristic diagram were obtained from expert interview and questionnaire. The direction of development of the cutters related to the workpiece surface cutting quality was found out from the patent analysis results. The exclusive growth of the patent for milling cutter with indexable insert was observed in the life cycle diagram after patent analysis, the clamping structure of technical class was patented most in the past years, and the cutting efficiency of efficiency class was patented most in the past years. With the aim to enhance the workpiece cutting surface quality, this study improved the milling cutter by improving the chip removal effect after analysis, and the actual cutting surface quality after improvement was better than that before improvement. |
