| Popis: | 101 Spt4 functions as a transcription elongation factor that optimizes the processivity of RNA polymerase II. In our early study, we have shown that Spt4 deficiency confers a decrease of polyQ protein expression and aggregation via preferentially repressed transcription of genes containing extended CAG trinucleotide repeats in Saccharomyces cerevisiae. In this study, we further characterized the nature of Spt4 in transcription of genes with various repetitive sequences. In addition, we evaluated the transcription of CAG expanded genes under ectopic expression of cellular proteins that have the potential to regulate nucleic acid secondary structures. |
